Mobile TV represents a significant new opportunity for the broadcast industry which has been working closely with ATSC to create a mobile digital television standard called ATSC M/H. SVC has recently been adopted by ATSC M/H to facilitate support for a broad range of end user devices including mobile phones, portable media players, laptop computers, navigation devices and car entertainment systems. Figure 6 shows how SVC can be used to support output devices with different capabilities in both noise-free and noisy channel environments. SVC Immedia’s SVC technology is fully compliant with ATSC M/H Candidate Standard (A/153) Part 7.
